Why give?

As a registered non-profit organization, every dollar you give to Free To Be Me Society goes towards supporting our events, and future programming and online resources. The retreat would not be possible without support from our community. Thank you! Please note that while we are a registered non-profit org, we are not a charity and therefore cannot dispense a charitable tax receipt, though you will receive a regular purchase receipt to confirm your gift was processed successfully.

Giving FAQs

  • Your gift will go to the Free To Be Me Society non-profit organization bank account, and will be used to pay for costs associated with the retreat, as well as future events and programming.

  • All financial gifts are “final sale” and are not eligible for reimbursement/return, or exchange for goods.

  • Free To Be Me Society is a registered non-profit organization, however in Canada there is differentiation between NPO and and NPO with charitable status (attaining charitable status is quite a bit more difficult and expensive). At the current time we have secured NPO status, but are not a charity. This does not impact our intentions as an organization, or our basic structure or functioning, but it does mean that we cannot disburse charitable tax receipts, and that we are required to use the term “gift” or “financial support” rather than donation.
